I stumbled upon this page a few weeks ago. I have been exactly where a lot of you are. My beautiful son Zack is an IV meth addict. Hes 20 years old. He has been incarcerated for 14 months now. Ive been able to breathe. And sleep. Knowing that hes eating, sleeping, has a warm bed and is protected from himself. His 115 lb self has gotten to a healthy 170 lbs (praise!). Hes known The Lord since he was 15. During his jail time, weve talked on the phone and in letters about how God led him to where he is now to save his life. I just have to continue to have faith in the Faithful One and believe that Zack will continue his path of sobriety when he gets out in February. My heart literally aches when I read these post and I want you all to know that I stand in the gap with you, for your sons and daughters; and for my own. God is the ONLY way this evil of addiction can be overcome. I found this poem in a very dark moment. I hope this is a sign to someone out there that God hears you like it was for me all those months ago when I found it. Standing In The Gap Ill stand in the gap for my son Ill stand till the victorys won This one thing I know, that You love him so And your work with my child is not done Ill stand in the gap every day And there I will fervently pray And Lord, just one favor, dont let me waver If things get quite rough, which they may Ill never give up on that boy Nor will You for You promised him joy For I know it was true, when he said Yes to You Though the enemy seeks to destroy Ill not quit as I intercede For You are his Savior indeed Though it may take years, I give you my fears As I trust every moment I plead And so in the gap I will stand Heeding your every command With help from above, I unconditionally love And soon he will reach for your hand.
