I sure hope Peter...that is the Apostle Peter has a little talk with Jesus before the People of the Name show up in heaven. Without such a talk Peter will surely feel like so inferior to those people from the twentieth century. First off he doesnt wear a Hugo Boss suit and one of those silk ties and of course he smells like a fisherman and nothing like a french...oh forget it...not one of those even though he did have a pair of thongs on! Oops those are sandals....and I should know that! You see Peter, why he didnt know any better than to say to a congregation of sinners that had gathered to hear him speak at the invitation of their friend Cornelious something about being accepted. Now mind you Cornelious was not a Christian and so he would be equivalent to what most Apostolics would call a nominal church goer. Mind you, he was a man of prayer and his prayers had come up as a memorial before the Lord...LHM as he didnt even use the name of Jesus in his daily time of prayer, let alone know that the name of Jesus was connected to diety! He was also a man of generosity and obviously a kind man and a believable man as he had just shared his testimony with his friends and next of kin and they dropped whatever they were doing and showed up on his doorstep to be in attendance at this important gathering that would be the talk of the town for the rest of time. Oh your waiting to hear what Peter said! Im so glad you kept reading for I cant believe Peter didnt know any better because Ive been reading some post of some great minds in the Apostolic movement and boy am I ashamed for Peter because they seem to be so hung up on whether or not it is appropriate to say.... I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior! Now the truth of the matter is we all know that is not what is plastered on cardboard signs at ball games and billboards up and down the highways of the countryside as they all say something like John 3:16! Please understand that John 3:16 IS NOT THE PLAN OF SALVATION BUT IT IS THE PRICE TAG FOR SALVATION! Yup some Apostolics have reduced it to just repent and be baptized of course in Jesus name and get the Holy Ghost but then they seem to have forgotten all about the believing part unless there quoting the scriptures from Mark 16 on baptism but other than that they are so bibically illiterate and that is the absolute NAKED TRUTH! They are not too comfortable with Pauls message to the jailer of ... Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved or what Peter preached on the day of Pentecost prior to Acts 2:38 but still in the second chapter of Acts where he said ...whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved and now to top it off he goes and really gets his foot in his mouth ....OR DID HE? And Peter said, I perceive... and that segues into a comment that the apostolics just arent comfortable with......that God is no respecter of persons, but in every nation...except for the USA and anywhere else the people who claim to preach the whole gospel to the whole world have made a beachhead...he that feareth God and worketh righteousness is accepted with God.... Oh my goodness, did you see it gets worse than some sinner accepting the Lord Jesus Christ but it is quite the opposite as the Lord Jesus Christ accepts those who arent even born again and havent been water dunked as of yet and that my friend will cause a stink in Denmark for sure! And they wonder why the Lord isnt sending the hungry to them its because they wont receive them as they are too busy trashing anybody that has already accepted the Lord as their personal savior and so like Murrell Ewing said at a General Conference in his message at Kansas City so many years ago that God will raise up a people who believe the message of Acts just like the Apostles preached but they wont be a part of an organized movement such as a church organization and God will be able to do with them a great work in our day! And they that do know their God shall be strong and shall do exploits! Never mind Bro. Peter, hell be just fine without a little talk with Jesus...l just hope the bishops get their nose in the altar and out of the clouds and humble themselves under the mighty hand of the almighty before he blots there name out...because pride is still a sin...know ye not that ye are blind and wretched and naked and need to buy of me gold tried in the fire! Have you never read where he that doeth truth cometh to the light that his deed might be manifest ....THAT THEY ARE WROUGHT OF GOD!
