I suspect that in a few years, most of the chemicals and synthetic - TopicsExpress

I suspect that in a few years, most of the chemicals and synthetic items we sell at garden centers will be either illegal to sell or at the very least, frowned upon by the majority of people...certainly this will hold true in the Pacific Northwest. I do not like to be told I have to do something by law, so I try to stay ahead of the game. At Drakes, the Landscape side of the business has been natural and organic for a long time. It has been one of the great selling features. Now, we are doing the same thing at the retail location. At out summer sale starting the 1st of August, everything which is not Natural and/or Organic will be part of our garage sale. We no longer will sell items which are not. I am very pleased that this choice is finally coming to fruition. I should also tell you that this week I have been telling every customer about this. I have not had even one negative response! It will also afford us the opportunity to give many classes on the ways to keep our gardens as lovely as we desire them to be, while paying attention to our planet and our future generation. I applaud companies like Bonide, Black Gold and Dramm for already providing many great things which we can comfortable say are natural / organic. So, heres to new challenges, and new opportunities to continue to beautify our world and our gardens, healthfully and respectfully for right now and for our future. This is NOT an indictment to those which do not do this, I am not responsible for those businesses. This is simply a statement about what we are choosing to do. If any of you bloggers wish to speak at out soon to be started classes on this subject, please contact Anna Kullgren. We also will have a real, quite lovely, new classroom for all of our education on the subject to occur. Thoughts?
