I swear this kid is driving me nuts, so he demolished his cone of shame. His pad is healing really well, however for some reason he was still crying alot. His dew claw looked red and inflamed, so I took him to the vet once again. They took xrays, not only did he cut his pad but he somehow fractured the dew claw bone along with 2 other digits on that paw, the other two digits are healing fine. The vet is concerned about the dew claw, it is severally infected. He is on stronger pain meds, an antibiotic and topical cream to help with the dermatitis. If it is not well in another week or two, he goes in for surgery to remove both of the dew claws. Crossing our fingers and paws that we wont need to do that, its an added expense we dont need at this time. But at least now I know why he has been in so much pain, having had a broken finger I completely understand. The funny part was the vet had taken him to the back to do the xray and a better exam, so she gave him a shot of pain meds. Within about 10 minutes, she comes running back to me saying she thinks he had an allergic reaction and he was possibly having a seizure. so I run back there with her, lol Charlie was running in circles with his tail tucked inbetween his legs. I told her this is Charlie when he is happy and he tucks his tail in so he can be more aerodynamic. He was chasing one of the vet techs, trying to get her to chase him. I just shook my head and said sorry thats my crazy dog.
