I tend to agree with those who ask what is the role of the President of Trinidad and Tobago? WHO IS HE? AND WHY IS HE THERE? I think it was a mistake/poor decision creating that position or office of President especially since the President of T&T is a non-executive president, a president who gives advice but is not responsible for making decisions or ensuring that decisions are carried out. What? What are Cabinet minsters there for? Dont they give advice to the PM? Doesnt she also hire and pay her advisers? What exactly is the purpose of the office of President when there is a PM? T&T need to re-evaluate this office and the role of the President. He should be an Executive President with power not some guy telling us that the powers we think he has he does not! Why not create a role for an Assistant PM or PM2? I dont know if this is the exact figure but wasnt it $34,272,000 allocated to the office of the President in Budget 2015? Having a PM seems to be a waste of taxpayers money and if you look closely it is almost like having a monarchy or a royal family in T&T. WHY? WHAT DO YOU THINK?
