I think I had a glimpse today of some crazy life purpose. I was stuck in a small office with a five year old who appeared to be possessed by demons. It was all I could do to contain him as his curiously, strong, body squirmed and kicked, swore, tried to bite and spat repetedly. His face and voice literally changed as he shouted that nobody cared and he wanted to just run in front of a car. My heart ached for the level of trauma this kid had already witnessed at his young age. Yet something just flowed as I worked to connect with him. I had no idea what I was saying but I felt him and all of his pain. I literally prayed that this little being might remember something that was said. Might get a glimmer of hope for a different reality. Who knows. But when he was finally picked up, my boss said to me youve got some amazing skills. I have no idea where they came from and I dont even remember what I said but I felt so proud. It felt like really important work.
