I think I have issues yall... Ok I just visited another church and I was so puzzled. Is it just me or...... When a man ask a women to marry her, does she keep it a secret? Or does she hit a high C note, cut at step and then show off that beautiful ring? Then please tell me why, When a preacher offers salvation to someone, they say bow your head and close your eyes, if there is anyone who wants to marry Jesus, then lift your hands where you are ( dont worry about walking down the isle) and lets pray the pray of (marriage) i mean salvation. Call me crazy but didnt Christ say hes coming back for his bride. You think when he returns that he will ask us to close are eyes and meet him in the sky in secrete. I think its the way our leaders set the stage in our church services. ITS as If this is an embarrassing, shameful moment with scrutiny and judgment rather than what we do in real life at a wedding. Ofcourse Im aware of the seriousness of meeting your future bride or husband but really. All that seriousness happens in the marriage. You know we cry at weddings. So its really ok to be emotional. Its really ok to be emotional about receiving the best thing that has ever happened to you. But is it ok at your wedding to feel dirty, lest than and a shame? Is salvation taking place or are we in a court room witnessing a sentence and a judgment being handled down?. I think that cleansing does happen at the point of contact of Gods love but not at the point of open humiliation. I wouldnt want someone to except my marriage perposal feeling like Im their last result. Although there are many ways God reaches us, i believe that when contact is made and relationship begans the objective in every case is the same. Fisrt marrital duties are to get to know one another and Understanding what we have entered into with Him so that our lives are stablized by truth. Thats the only way to truly relate, worship and be married. So Who Are Our Wedding Planners? And Who Are Our Party Poopers? Foot note: I noticed that when we lead with Relationship vs Scare Tactics you get opened hearts. No one wants to FEAR the one their marrying. Wouldnt it be great every Sunday as we all come together in worship with our bridgroom to cominate the celebration with a wedding ceremony? What a thought,,,,,,, Ok Im going to try something.... Im going to ask all my family members and freinds to meet me somewhere for dinner. And at the end of our fellowship ask everyone to bow their heads and close their eyes and ask my lady friend to raise her hand,,, and ask her to repeat after me and then ask her if shed like to be with me for the rest of her life,,,, What kind of response do you think I would get? ( Weirdo or Hes sooo Spiritual) How weird do you think God thinks we are sometimes? Maby its just me?
