I think I mentioned this before: An incomplete shipping address - TopicsExpress

I think I mentioned this before: An incomplete shipping address can add more shipping time to your order. NZ Post says clearly a standard address has either Street number/rapid number and street name, P O Box plus City, Rural District number where applicable and a post code. Modern postal system is using sorters which read your address and process your parcel in a computer. The sorter sorts the parcel into containers for each postal area. These machines work incredibly fast. I have worked with them in Germany. And they are really good in reading handwriting. Even mine ;) But if any of the parts of your address is missing the sorter puts your shipment into the Sort by hand bucket. And this can delay your shipment. I hope this helps. I just had a customer who says Our rural postie knows where we live which is ok. But the sorter might see your address as incomplete. Because this machine sits in Auckland or Christchurch etc and doesnt know that you often have a tea and a yarn with your rural postie. :D I guess thats called progress.
