I think Ive found a place where solar panels are good... This is blackfriars station in London. It caters as the closest stop for one of Londons two financial district. Every day thousands of commuters from the north and south suburbs go through here to get too work... The entire line is going under a multi billion pound refurbishment, to cater to growing passenger numbers. Blackfriars station has been moved to this bridge, and the solar panels placed over the top. These have two benefits: 1. The electricity goes straight into the overhead wires, reducing transport losses. 2. They provide cover for passengers waiting for a train. I think this is a good example showing how solar can be used effectively. Please comment your thoughts! :)
