I think Jane hit on a really good teaching aid Saturday morning - TopicsExpress

I think Jane hit on a really good teaching aid Saturday morning when we had our grandsons overnight. She had each of them sit at the kitchen table and write a letter to Santa, their Christmas list. Surprisingly, their list wasnt too long and their writing was legible and if they didnt know how to spell an item, they ask gramma. Somewhere among the stuff we still have one of their daddy, Joshua, letters to Santa and as best as Jane could remember begins something like this Dear Santa, I know Santa doesnt have a lot of money this year and if I dont get everything I want, I will understand.... I got teared up because I knew there were times I just couldnt get all the things my boys wanted for Christmas. We never made a lot of money and for most of those early years, we barely got by from week to week. Through it all, God was faithful, we never went hungry, we never went naked and we have always had a roof over our heads. We taught the boys the real meaning of Christmas and those lean years are the ones that I best remember because it was at those times when God seemed to wrap His arms around us and love on us as only He can.
