I think Keller is a very unique city and the best place to live in - TopicsExpress

I think Keller is a very unique city and the best place to live in D/FW, especially if you are raising a family. But what is it that makes Keller so special? I have spent a great deal of time pondering that question because within that answer lies the future of its continued growth and success. First and foremost is families, families, families! Families are at the very heart of the city and provide a common focus for most of us. Many of us and our neighbors are raising kids or have raised our kids here and it is tie that binds us together in a shared pursuit. We are here because it is a safe environment, with good schools, and affordable housing. It is also a low-key place with a welcoming atmosphere. But what makes it such a good place for families? The answer to that seems to lie with the thing that holds it back from commercial development...geography. The city is land-locked, meaning it doesnt border a major highway or interstate. This is a barrier to strong commercial growth but provides a strong safety barrier because we are tucked away and not easily accessible to the outside world. Also, Keller has great parks and loads of natural beauty. It is a place in the heart of D/FW where you can still find nature and solitude. This contributes to the rural feel and provides a strong connection to the land. This makes Keller very special indeed! You are minutes from a world-class airport and can easily travel to downtown Dallas or Fort Worth, yet you can find a quiet, peaceful place to relax and/or let your children play. You can truly get away from it all, if you desire. All the big city conveniences can be experienced from the comfort of a small town feel. How unique and special is that? Kellers challenge for the future is finding a way to protect and enhance its unique qualities and attributes while still growing its commercial economy to balance the burden on residential tax payers. An opportunity exists by focusing on families and what is important to them, to celebrate and grow the city. Through community connection, park development, and tourism, this city has the potential to become an even better place to call home. As we welcome in the new year, I am encouraged and excited for our collective future and all the possibilities that it brings. Heres to Keller, The Best Place to Live and Call Home!!
