I think back to all the choices Ive made, and to the ones I havent. Things Ive done and said. What is it, though, that has led to me being here, alone? I wonder if the me Ive found, though filled with personal satisfaction and fulfillment, has chased away those that might have been in my life as friends, lovers, a spouse even? I try not to dwell on such thoughts, but how can I not when, at the end of every day, I return to an empty room filled only with me and the looming silence of the company of one? I dont seek for pity for I am the way I chose to be. Its just, I thought finding oneself would include the discovery of another soon after. When will my how did you meet story be told? The answers are lost to me, but in dreams soon to come, should I seek for a glimmer of hope.
