I think building a new library for 30 million dollars is the bottom of priorities. We have a serious problem with water and transit of which neither will be cheap...(no this does not mean raise taxes...it means we simply put a stop to all the waste and spend our money openly using common sense) I would propose a quarter of that budget to update the existing, and to my knowledge structurally sound, libraries. I think they need to be cozy and update the internet library with a card online for those that prefer their own couch for a good read. There needs to be an area with a fire place, a coffee station, story time with community volunteers, conference rooms that have some style, ones people would want to rent. Creat a revenue all the while creating an atmosphere that people would actually enjoy for a whole lot less.
