I think differently than most. The more I am around people, the more I realize this. While most people admire the people who have the fancy home or the fancy car, when I talk with someone who has a modest home but has no mortgage, my admiration comes out. I overheard a gentleman the other day (who was driving an older car, not junky at all, just not new and fancy) he commented to the other man (who had a brand new fancy car) you know I could drive newer cars, I just choose to spend my money in different ways, he wasnt prideful and to be honest the other mans car is probably paid for too. I know he could too, he has a very good job and owns two homes. I read that most millionaires live in homes with the average value of $300k and drive paid for vehicles. I just place value in other things, time with people I love, energy spent making memories. Not that I dont believe in hard work, it takes that to get to the point that you can drive a paid for car and and have no mortgage (even on a modest home)...I am always telling my kids that just because it looks like we own something, if we owe the bank for it, we really dont own it, the bank does. ...just my random thought of the day.
