I think everyone is missing the point. The Sony Corporation canceled the release of that movie, not because it is afraid of North Korean hackers. It is afraid of American lawyers in a sue-happy society. Can you imagine the sheer number of lawsuits that would occur if something did happen at a theatre showing that movie after the media sensationalized the threats? In the end, it was a business decision to protect company assets. On any scale, a savvy manager would make that safe call.
