I think it is very good decision by UPSC to continue with 24th Aug prelims. with some modification, but CSAT should be continued. 1. All India Services and other Class 1 officers should have basic knowledge of English if they want to lead the system in globalized world. There is nothing Elite/Colonial mindset in it.It is a completely professional point.(An Govt Official should also be fluent in one of the regional language as per Three Language formula, Person having good command on mother tongue mostly find it easy to learn and connect with other regional language) 2. CSE should be more dynamic, Set pattern of Exam makes a way for RATTA methods. 3. It is logically incorrect to say that CSAT is favorable to Engineers and Medical students. though level of it is more than 10th Std but it is a matter of practice. What about Essay, Subjective questions and Interviews where students from other faculties have SO CALLED advantages ? 4. Hindi medium students get an extra advantage of getting question paper in their language(Except only those 9Qs of CSAT), when other regional medium students are adjusting with Hindi and English Question papers and Interview panels(Translator as a communication channel), So should others also start protesting ? 5. Problems in real life never come as per patterns or case studies prescribed in Text Books, So All we can do is get our fundamental concepts clear and be ready with any problem on it irrespective of pattern, This is What is expected from not only an officer but also from every educated person but now a days, we are more concern about how to get easy mark so we have that habit of opposing to any change in Ice Age time systems. and This mentality continues within the system also about which I dont need to tell you. New suggestion/ Feedback is always welcome but We should be able to differentiate between progressive suggestion and regressive/status Que suggestion. And Finally, WE DONT NEED TO HATE ENGLISH/ANY LANGUAGE TO LOVE OUR LANGUAGE.
