I think it will be a while before any final decisions are made in - TopicsExpress

I think it will be a while before any final decisions are made in regards to Legoland coming to North Rockland. There are lot of questions that will need to be addressed and opportunities for public input. In the meantime, some thoughts: • North Rockland needs new ratables to help our families continue to afford to live here and to ensure our schools provide a sound education for our children. Although Legoland may not produce the immediate tax win fall hoped for, any tax revenue and economic activity is better than no tax revenue, which is currently taking place at Letchworth Village. • The fact that the State and a developer is looking at North Rockland as a feasible location for this project is a good thing. Whether Legoland comes into fruition or not, at least this vacant and dormant property is getting on people’s radar screen. • Should Legoland move forward, I am confident there will many opportunities for the public to weigh in and due diligence to take place by our Town leaders to address traffic and any other concerns or questions. • While this process takes it time and due course, as residents we should not try to kill it on arrival. There’s too much at stake for the future of North Rockland. I personally would like my kids to come back to North Rockland after college and raise their families here. And I am sure many others would like to as well. lohud/story/news/local/rockland/haverstraw/2014/09/01/legoland-may-fun-taxpayers/14948817/?utm_medium=%5B%27twitter%27%5D&utm_source=%5B%27dlvr.it%27%5D
