I think most of the educated, conscious and mobilised citizens of the country very well know that there have been umpteen attempts in the past to cleanse the ganges, yamuna and many other pious rivers of the country in which thousands of crores have been surrepticiously spend by the respective governments, the majority of which have been allegedly siphoned off by the sharks which comprises of the well knitted nexus of contractors, engineers, corrupt bureaucracy, of course not all and the politicians. Even world bank has also contributed millions of dollars for cleaning the ganges the real life line of the country. I have been given to understand that about more than two thousand crores have been spent on cleansing of the yamuna but its unfortunately today no less than a huge sewer drain that literally collects thousands of tons of rubbish, sewer of whole delhi, affluent of the numberless tanneries situated d along side its banks and the left out of the floral offerings of the crematorium situated on the yamuna bank near kashmiri gate , delhi. Similarly till now more than 500 crores have allegedly been wasted d in the cleanliness of the ganges out of the hard earned taxpayers money of we Indians, but ganges is still in total disarray. Hudreds of tons of waste of hundreds of tanneries goes into this pious river with corpses of the old also being drowned into it including thousands of tons of used fuel of crematoriums situated on the banks have literally made our pious ganges life miserable , laughable and ridiculous. Though we still respect and revered it. Because its the actual lifeline of our the country. I m happy that the modi government has taken the cudgels to make ganges clean and highly modernised in its hands and has allocated a budget of nearly 5000 crores for making this dream come true.we as Indians welcome it. But I would like to hard hittingly emphasise that until or unless the tanneries, chemical factories, milk diaries and other manufacturing units r not shifted elsewhere any attempt to clean ganges will be an exercise in futility as were the previous unsuccessful attempts, thus siphoning off our thousands of crores into the personal pockets of the corruptors and money launderers.
