I think part of the reason there has been so much shock, outrage, anger and revulsion, particularly from left wing intellectuals and ordinary people who dont get involved - like people who are passive on most issues, and why this stuff has shaken the world is probably because theres been this sort of mythology built up from the Nazi and slavery in America that only white people can be racist and commit atrocities. I think this has shaken so many people because the left wing genuinely didnt believe in non-white racism. It was screened out of the political spectrum like persecution against minorities by Buddhists in Myanmar. Ya know, Muslims have been the poster child of the left wing for a long time. Some of the horrific treatment under the Israeli/Palestine occupation have made them the preferred examples of persecution for left wing circles that utterly ignored what was happening in the rest of the world. I wrote about this months ago, about the denial of racism existing in other races and among migrant groups and people didnt believe me or somehow their frameworks were unequipped to deal with it. The left offers no frameworks for understanding racism from other groups outside the Anglo-Germanic European groups. So when massive undeniable acts of ethno-racial genocide happen like in Iraq, and its up there on the worlds screen, its done something to people who were complacent in their left wing views. I think thats part of why weve seen such a massive outcry and angry anti-ISiS protests all over the world the past few days, and theres this sudden surge of anger from people all over the place. Its shattered an old left wing paradigm. m.dailytelegraph.au/news/nsw/the-photo-that-will-shock-the-world-jihadist-khaled-sharroufs-son-7-holds-severed-head/story-fni0cx12-1227019897582
