I think people often assume that all writers can speak easily in front of large groups or enjoy the spotlight given our ongoing obsession with words. Many of us are actually pretty quiet or prefer not to talk about ourselves all that much. Were mostly interested in the underlying, in realness, and of course, in your stories, in hidden stories, in the history underneath, and in beauty. Wed rather listen, composing notes in our heads, turning and churning the connection of ideas into pieces to be used later on. Writers are sponges.
