I think people tend to forget there is one main injustice in all - TopicsExpress

I think people tend to forget there is one main injustice in all of these killings by police officers. Its not about what the suspect was doing, who they were, their character etc. Its about the fact that police arent simply just trained to shoot to kill. We have a justice system for a reason. We have trial courts for a reason. If someone commits a crime, regardless of color, then they should have their day in court. Is that not why the court system was created? To preserve law and order? How do we do that if officers can gun them down left and right, give us a faint explanation of the series of events and then be able to move on with their lives and careers? How are we not supposed to cry racism when there are bombers, school shooters, and domestic terrorists sitting in prison who had their days in court? Its not about excusing individuals of whatever they may have been doing prior to their deaths (i.e Michael Brown) its about the fact that police are acting like vigilantes and taking the lives of young black men without having to suffer any consequences or offer any explanations. Show me autopsies all you want. I would rather to have had Michael Brown still be alive to offer his side of the story. He cant now can he?
