I think that if I were a Christian, that the only part of the Christmas holiday that I would personally put a stop to, is the Christmas tree, as that does strike me as being particularly pagan. I also would drastically curtail the gift giving aspect, because it would frankly leave me broke with no money, plus i think that aspect is a bit over-emphasized. But there are other aspects of Christmas that I do think is worth preserving and celebrating, such as families and friends getting together, the delicious food, the beautiful music, and the feelings of warmth, generosity, forgiveness, and just the general good feelings that seem to pervade that holiday. It is those aspects of the holiday that make that time of year the one time of year that I find myself to be a bit envious of Christians.
