I think that the more we grow as people and the more self-aware we become, the more we come to realize that the harder it is to encounter people who understand all parts of us. I suppose it should not come as a surprise considering the dichotomy between the complexities of human beings and the actual simplicity of their needs. We may not be simple as people but I think one of the common threads between all people is that our core needs are pretty elementary, one of which is that we just want someone in our lives who truly gets us, right down to the nitty gritty parts of our soul. It takes a very special person to be fascinated enough by us to spend the time and energy to explore the inner workings of our soul. It takes an even more extraordinary person to understand the facets of who we are, which others have not bothered to sweep the dust off of on the pathway of our lives. Personally, I think those are the most exciting human discoveries, and when two people are willing to take the journey of opening up so deeply, the ensuing connection of their souls is invaluable...♥
