I think this is great news. Alex Felsky (@AlexFelsky) is taking a run for School Trustee: Former provincial NDP candidate Alex Felsky has joined the race for a trustee position on the Grand Erie District School Board. The city resident registered her candidacy for the Oct. 27 municipal election this week. Im anxious to get back out door knocking, she said. Ive missed it. Felsky placed third in the Brant race in the June 12 provincial election, earning almost 14,000 votes, a 4,000-vote jump for the local NDP over the 2011 contest. She said her run for school board is motivated largely by her sons, aged six and two. I will have children in the public school system for many years to come. And I believe that decisions, which have a profound impact on day-to-day school experiences, should be driven by those who understand the needs of children and their families in our schools. We need to ensure parents voices are heard and that trustees are open and approachable.
