I think this is the same little fella who was playing in the same area after his lunch munching worms and bugs in the grass on the outside of the edge of the canal; the day before the bit of mud at upper right was a puddle, he played in it for a while, and seemed to be rubbing himself on its concrete sides, I guess to molt. If its him, hes a little bigger today....couldnt get the camera out in time to catch more of him, and its on maximum zoom.....Id say hes just under a metre long, or maybe 70cm, not much smaller than that. The little ones, up to a metre and more, climb up the vertical stone walls of the canal (klong) all the time....Im glad the bigger ones cant, theres one down there thats as big as a crocodile, 3 metres or more......no theyre not komodos, though they are monitor lizards.....
