I think we had, in the end, a productive workshop on our budget tonight. We talked about a lot of options, but after a lot of discussion, our direction to staff was to take last years expenditures and decrease that amount by 5%. Commissioner Marden and I tried to get the commission to lead the way by taking a 5% reduction in the commission and Mayors salary, which the Mayor was also in favor of doing, but the rest of the commissioners felt the commissioners pay had already taken enough of a hit in last years reduction. The important part is, that if we are successful in cutting another 5%, we will have reduced the citys spending by 10% in two years! Thats an accomplishment to be proud of!
