I think weve had a thread about clothes and clothes shops before, but I cant find it. Anyway..... I was fondly remembering a black skirt from Other Clothes with a random squiggle pattern in bleach all over it. No matter how many times it was washed and smothered in fabric conditioner or sprayed with perfume (they hadnt invented Febreze in them days!) it always gave off a whiff of bad eggs. I was once leaning on a radiator at my mates house and I still recall her dad looking surreptitiously from me to the dog every time he caught a nose full of a rather sulphurous miasma! I loved Other Clothes, X always seemed a bit intimidating to me for some reason (they did a second hand bit called Pure SH for a while as I recall) and I remember being in Bad on New Station Street with something of a crowd watching through a gap in the curtains as Wayne Hussey tried a purple velvet coat on. *blush*. And Ive still got some proper 50s prom dresses bought from Antique Boutique for ridiculously low prices that would no doubt sell for shed loads these days. That place was vintage before vintage was invented - we a used to call them secondhand clothes! 😄
