I think with anyone who use critical thinking regularly our ideologies tend to evolve and our understanding of what we believe to be true takes new forms. Thats a constant. For me feminism allowed me to take a step back and reevaluate what I had been taught by socializing and culture to be true. Moving forward I used my critical eye to reestablish who I am. I keep what feels good and reject what doesnt, always keeping in mind to respect the autonomy of others. Thats my feminism. My feminism enjoys fashion and fitness but I enjoy it with a critical eye. I once had a family member who knows nothing about feminism make an assumptive statement fashion is anti-feminist. Its along the same line as others who believe Im selling out for enjoying the process of sculpting my body. I love dressing my fit body fashionably. So since when did loving yourself become anti-feminist? If feminism is a tool to be used to change the world Im going to use it in the most constructive way. LOVING MYSELF. Haters hate that.
