I thought Facebook was a public forum. People get so irritated when youre not posting cat videos and selfies. Im not trying to make everything dark by posting things about police brutality and updates on whats going on in Ferguson. Im trying to spread awareness in the hopes that people will care enough to make it change. The only change we are going to get is through our own hands and working together. The more we let police brutality slide and assume that anyone deserved what they got the more force they will continue to use on unarmed civilians. Those people in Ferguson need you to know what is going on. The news media is even being attacked by the police. This is another reason that it is so important to spread the news through social media. And for anyone to think, Oh its just another person shot by police... happens all the time... You are already gone. That person is a human being just like you with a mother and a family. If you brush these shootings off, they will just continue. And I am not particularly comfortable with this being the norm. Our country has so much potential to be better than this. Dont accept the new norms. All I ask is that you at least become aware of what is going on. These police in Ferguson had no hesitation in escalating to high grade military equipment. Targeting the press is unnacceptable. This is not a movie, this is not a test. This is real life!
