I thought Id post this email sent from my lovely upstairs neighbour about our forthcoming launch gig on 19th Dec. So well written I thought Id share! --------------------------- Captain SKA writes and produces political ska style-ee tunes with controversial videos to boot! Apparently it all started for Captain Ska when the present coalition government formed and it really irked him that Nick Clegg went back on so many promises as soon as he got into power. He wanted to do something about it and he quickly put together and released Liar Liar. (https://youtube/watch?v=BQFwxw57NBI) It spread like fire over the internet, was a serious contender for the No.1 spot in the crimbo charts that year, did reach No. 1 in the UK Reggae Charts and even earned airtime on Newsnight while Nick Clegg was on the programme! With the next election around the corner, theres no better time to show support for one of the very few musical artists in this town brave enough to point out what we all know….. Their live shows are a mash up of SKA, Latin and Reggae and the band does feature some of Londons finest session musicians so we will be moving to the beat - its a party after all! Musicians like these making statements like this will never ever receive label support……So lets join them for a party, buy their EP if we like it and let them know that we want to hear what theyve got to say!
