I too dont like negative campaigning but how one defines negative is important. I define negative ads as those that lie. Sam Brownback has not cut public education, class sizes are not larger, schools havent closed due to his policies and we are not broke. I would challenge each of you to look up Parkinsons 2010 State of the State address. I know why Parkinson did not run against Brownback 4 years it was because he did not want to have to clean up a state ravaged by the recession...Kansas was in a mess. These are the facts in what Sam Brownback inherited: we had no reserves, projected $500 million shortfall within 18 months(thats even with new tax increases included), education had been cut along with other state services, KPERS was in bankruptcy zone rated as 2nd worst funded in the country, federal stimulus money was dried up, sales tax had been raised, and Kansas had ZERO private sector job growth. Where are we today: record amount of money being spent on public education, $430 million cash on hand at the end of this last fiscal year, income and sales tax reduced for all Kansans, 58,000 new private sector jobs, 4.8% unemployment, KPERS now funded at 60% level way out of bankruptcy zone, 100,000 more Kansans who need help on KanCare, welfare rolls cut in half because of welfare to work programs. This the success of a Brownback administration that has been drowned out by a a candidate who stands for nothing and has no plan. He must continue to lie to convince you that Brownback has harmed our great state when nothing could be further from the truth. Governor Brownback has led this state from a disaster to a comeback. I would know these things because I have worked for this honorable man for the past four years. I know the facts from the lies that have been propagated by the Kansas Values Institute(KVI) and Davis himself. KVI has been funded by large union organizations, Sebeliuss old Bluestem PAC, and other non-Kansas progressive organizations. The last time I looked these are not folks who represent Kansas Values. End of Mrs. Borchers Facebook post.
