I too would have let the officers know Jalynn is high function Autistic. I would have been arrested too. This wrong. Officers need to stop for a moment and listen before making a situation harder. All that needed to happen was a simple sensitivity training for the officers so they know how to handle this young man. Repeating, rocking would be Jalynn first clue she was going to melt down. Then the slamming head and screaming to follow, as the stress of situation peaks. But I know to ask for special needs trained officers when we have to deal them, and EMT have been great in working with Jalynn.
