I took Sweet Pea to Dr. Taylor for her follow up x-Rays to access her Congestive Heart Failure. It has progressed very minimally, but it still progressed. She has been coughing quite a bit the last 3 days, much more than she has for the last 6 months since she was diagnosed. He said her heart looks good, A small amount of calcification, which would be normal for her age anyway and nothing to be too concerned about. The coughing being worse could be an allergic reaction, or the heart enlargement, or it could be a collapsing Trachea. He kept her heart meds the same but added a small dose of Prednisone as needed for possible inflammation of the Trachea. If she coughs some tonight, give her 1/4 t0 1/2 a pill which are 5 mg. pills. Then give her another in the morning. Repeat tomorrow night if she is still coughing. Thank you for the suggestion about Vetmedin Rachel Waid. He told me about it and the tech added that once we start it, we cant stop giving it. It is something he wants me to keep in mind for later on as this progresses. Hopefully and prayerfully the enlargement of her heart will not progress quickly and we will have her around for a long time. Everyone said she was a very good girl today.
