I took a swim this morning and later in the afternoon we had a walk near Speech house in the forest. We did about three miles along forestry tracks meeting one or two other walkers and some deer. The day was fine with clear blue sky and bright sunshine illuminating the tree tops. There is a lot of colour about now and that wonderful smell of decaying leaves. The various streams were deep and bubbling along at some speed. There were signs that Boar were about but we did not see any. A large enclosure of Larch had been felled recently which looked like a battlefield with the odd shorn trunk standing, the ground covered in broken branches poking out of the browning bracken. A nice walk and only a five minute drive west from the house.
