I took interest in this article because of its subject which I have keen interest in. Whereas most of the points highlighted are factual, the logic of the argument is intellectually weak. Change as a phenomenon is propelled by some Drivers. The Driver of the huge entry of South African businesses into the Nigeria Market and indeed other businesses is globalisation, as opposed to the internal factors listed in this article. Some of the business names listed here by the writer as having originated from South Africa were themselves entrants into the South African market from other markets, similar to how they are now gaining entrance into Nigeria. For e.g. Woolworths is not originally South African, as stated by the writer. I believe it is an Australian chain. The subject of globalisation should be of interest to any African who is interested in economy or the dynamics of it. A good understanding of this subject will significantly enhance the Africans chances of embarrassing the reality that in just a few years to come there will not be such thing as Nigeria where Economy and the Marketplace is concerned. It’ll be difficult for anyone to say things like they came to set up a business in our Nigeria. In the next few years an average employee in Nigeria will have a foreigner as their employer. This is because the global tent of transaction will be erected in Africa, Nigeria being a prime target location. We are now part of a global market which is almost, for want of a better phrase, superior to geographical landscapes, country, etc.
