I totally agree. If more Christians actually studied and carried out the actual teachings of Jesus then American Christianity would look radically different. The generally mutated and watered down version we see today might better be termed Paulianity (or at least how Paul is perceived to have taught). Furthermore, the Enlightenment philosophy of individualism, the supremacy of human reason, and the pursuit of happiness and pleasure has permeated our culture, which thus has corrupted our congregations.
