I totally understand why Israel is determined not to cooperate - TopicsExpress

I totally understand why Israel is determined not to cooperate with the UN inquiry into attacks on schools and a host of other war crimes. Why is this even news? It was a foregone conclusion Did even one of us think that they would cooperate after witnessing what they have done in Gaza - especially in the border cities - that they would agree to an investigation into their killing of such a large number of civilians - or the destruction of thousands of civilian homes - after targeting hospitals, mosques and schools. They are under investigation by several international organizations for committing war crimes during Operation Protective Edge. Even internationally recognized journalists and doctors have accused them of genocide. The Russell Tribunal presented compelling eye witness accounts. And those of us on the ground know the stories of what the Israeli military did to civilians in Khuzaa, and Shujeiya and Beit Hanoun and a dozen other border cities. The horror stories are the stuff of everyday conversations. Israel and the U.S. government have created a new rule book for war that they have conveniently not brought it before the international community for debate - and very probable condemnation. They plan to get away with murder. The United States has emasculated the United Nations - and Israel is smirking in delight at what it has been allowed to do with absolute impunity. Frankly, however, they are being increasingly accused of war crimes in the court of international public opinion. In a misguided attempt to shield its war criminals, Israel is sentencing its entire country to conviction as war criminals by refusing to submit to inquiry. In my personal opinion, the only viable solution is for more and more countries to end their diplomatic ties to Israel until such time as they comply with the international inquiries. The question remains, will they have the courage enough to do it.
