I transcribed this from an interview to Bob Brozman: Music really exist in nature, in humans to make you smarter, commercial music is designed to make people stupid. That music where the charleston or hi-hat goes “stupid-stupid-stupid-stupid-stupid” and it really works. And, in fact, there’s another very interesting division in the world. There’s only two rhythm cultures in this planet: colonizers and colonized. Colonizers march, so they follow the beat, “eins, zwei, drei, vier!“. The colonized react to the beat, they’ve been march stomped so all of their music is on the “and“: one AND two AND three AND... If you go to the disco, like in Germany, you will discover the disco, techno and pop: it’s march music! I’m sorry but in my age I say anything I want, I don’t care what anybody thinks anymore, you know, I’m a little bit upset with global American culture, and I’m having troubles to tell the difference between how Britney Spears music sounds and how tanks sound going to Baghdad, to me is roughly the same thing. I have the opportunity of being in front of a lot of young people, and this is my way to do the revolution, just stimulate young people to think for themselves.
