I tried PiYo for the first time yesterday in my hotel room. This video is a snippet of the warm up. PiYo is a new strength workout - a blend of many disciplines: sports training, core conditioning, dance, piyostretch, and athletic drills that is design to help kick up the calorie burn and build muscle. You use your body weight to perform a series of continuous, targeted moves to burn fat as you redefine your muscles. No weights. No jumps. I was barefoot! One of my favorite trainers, Chalene Johnson, designed PiYo for everyone who wants to work on health and fitness goals. It is low impact so there is no jumping and you can modify every move. Great for people with knee or back problems. It is also great for more of an advanced user who may be bored with traditional yoga or Pilates. I am excited to work on my strength and flexibility because mine is awful. Today I am a bit sore from the triceps pushups, I think. It was a fun session and I am excited to try Day 2. I have 3 PiYo online accountability groups starting on Monday and they are all FULL.
