I tried to be neutral and analyse the occupation in that way, hope both of you will agree. Life is always about balance and there is no perfect solution. Assumption: PRC wont retrieve the original proposal (very high chance) Pro: demand for democracy, basic human rights, justice; showing Hong Kong people are unite and peaceful; influence other part of China for democracy; gaining world support; marking down in history that Hong Kong people love and will fight for democracy and not just accept selective democracy plan as the ultimate universial suffrage; to show we are against violence; etc Cons: suspicions and accusations between the two camps supporting and opposing the occupation; possible legal actions to our students; learning and business chance; travel warning; destroying trust for further communications between PRC and Hong Kong; possible influence to people especially to those living or working in the occupied area, etc Alternative ways: organized demonstrations and protests instead of occupation; forums, press and publications; etc (if no perfect solution, choose the methods that have least negative impacts to the local people) Progress: the pros have showed; the cons are floating Important point: to end the movement before the cons bringing too much effects to the Hong Kong people unless the assumption can be changed(that is there is chance for the PRC to retrieve, at least some chance) Conclusion: to be generated by any of you, after balancing the pros and cons
