I try to pay it forward. Today, while waiting in town for my son to finish school, a woman came up to me after having just left the food bank. She asked if Id mind giving her a ride back to the trailer park where she was staying. I gladly obliged, and as I was driving her home, she proceeded to tell me a bit about her life and circumstances. Her father had abandoned her, after finding a new wife, and shortly thereafter, her ex-husband beat her up. To make matters worse, she had just lost her two children to Social Services. As I dropped her off, I could see the pain in her eyes. I pray that she will be ok. Despite the struggles Ive endured over the last 7 years, my problems PALE in comparison to hers. Thanks for the reality check, God. I needed it.
