I turned these assignments in for a class: I feel like the standard for this assignment has been set too high to begin with, as those in the class were instructed to “Please speak like a normal human.”, also the “Object & Outcome” of the post were/are, and I quote “• Interact with your peers like a normal person.” At this point Im sure most argumentative individuals would claim that they are “without peers”, which Ive always found to be ridiculous considering the said individuals Ive witnessed saying that phrase; because they have peers. Many of them - I refer to them as the “Lower end of the Bell Curve”. No, my issue with the assignment is advice, nay - directive, from my psychiatrist: the term “normal” is not something I should strive for because of the innate unattainable nature of the word in relation to my psychological profile. Dont get me wrong, I completely appreciate the intent behind the phrasing. I find most college students starting out their academic career or those in graduate programs to be the most unbearably pretentious sociopaths this side of Dahmer. It’s as if they are aware of a finite amount of oxygen in a shared room and are determined to use all of it, in the most grandiose vernacular possible to say absolutely nothing at all. Have I wasted too much your time at this point, Dear Reader? Very well, allow me to a brief opportunity to address the inquiries relevant to the assignment: I have no desire to be a Mobile Developer. There was an issue with my application to this establishment and instead of “Creative Writing for Entertainment” I was assigned “Computer Animation”. When I called the University to bring this to their attention, their mistake was promptly corrected by enrolling me in “Mobile Application Development”. Ive been trying to rectify the situation since August, to no avail. There’s a small part of me that things maybe this is a psychological experiment. To what end? I have no idea, Im really curious to see how it turns out. Although, psychological test subjects never seem to have happy movies made about them, yeah? I took one semester of Introduction to Visual Basic at the University of Pittsburgh and that confused me to the point I just ended up writing code to make the screen do the thing that the professor wanted the end result to be. I have to assume he didnt know anything about coding either - because I passed. Also, I began teaching myself HTML before I enrolled in Full Sail and was actually making relatively decent progress. I prefer android (My Note 4 is SICK) but was the most obnoxious Apple advocate on the planet until I downloaded iOS7 onto my iPhone 5. I got rid of the phone within a month for a Samsung Galaxy S4. My thought is that when Mr. Jobs passed away he left a super-secret keynote for the executives of the company with what to do in order to remain immensely successful, and that keynote ended shortly before Jony Ive was released to create the visually immersive iOS7. Apple used to innovate, yet I see them treading water now. Dont get me wrong - I do still use a fair amount of their products, but android is taking over in the compatibility arena, in my opinion. I do see android as the future - especially because of Google (All Hail our New Overlords!) and I enjoy using the products. I think an open access to publish apps to the “Play Store” without a Q/A process results in some junk, but hey - most of it is free junk. The caveat I see to the android’s takeover is the customizability of the interface to the phone. Most people shouldn’t be permitted to operate toasters without supervision, let alone dictate how the supercomputer in their hand allocates system resources to their emojis.
