I understand that are founding fathers gave us the right to free - TopicsExpress

I understand that are founding fathers gave us the right to free speech to make America what it is today. I wonder however if they knew how it would be used today in our modern society. This afternoon - I read comments made by people to the media on the passing of Captain Tony Grider. In fairness - most people made warm and touching messages over the passing of this man - who gave his life for our protection and safety. Regardless of whether he was fighting a fire - providing medical assistance - or - giving a kind word to someone - he was doing what he loved and from what I have learned about him - he did his job very well. His death was caused by a tragic accident. He was doing something with his fellow firefighters that gave all of us something to smile about. I understand a little about what happened - In my career - I operated one of these aerial units for many years. I have operated them in the same areas near power lines - and - even though you take all the precautions that you can and adhere to the safety protocols in place - high voltage lines are never predictable - I have made too many rescues with LGE bucket trucks to know what can happen. My point is this - some of the comments made were vicious - rude - and just down right uncaring from idiots that want to stir up shit - and - cause trouble - and - get a laugh from people so that they can be a funny person during their 2 minutes of fame on facebook. I feel for them. What sad and cruel people we have in this world and it seems to be getting worse and worse. I was not raised like that - and all of my friends were not either. I have blocked all news agencies from my timeline. Local and National. I just do not want to read about this any more. I do not want to be a part of this anymore. NO one has the right to say things about a man who was just doing his duty - and in Captain Griders case - this was caring about people. I Pray his family and friends and fellow firefighters do not read these comments and will now begin the process of saying good bye to him - and - try to keep his memory alive - as he is as well as the crew members that were with him and also hurt are true heros in every sense of the word. Rest In Peace Captain Grider - You will be missed - and - Job Well Done ! Good Night FB Friends and Family !
