I understand that my idea of if it needs to die for you to eat it - TopicsExpress

I understand that my idea of if it needs to die for you to eat it then you should be involved in its death therefore appreciating the life and lending dignity to the death is not going to be adopted in our culture (it would greatly improve public health and greatly decrease food waste). however the current system embraced to feed the populace its affordable and safe meats and seafood is hideously unethical and unsubstainable. research and demand to witness documentable video of how your meat reaches your table from birth as an animal to packaging as a commodity, learn what a rendering plant does, etc. everything necessary to enable our current food system. a good man could not fully understand and witness the process without disgust and remorse. I am a meateater and btw the tv show by the same name is outstanding. there may not be a perfect solution that everyone can agree on but there sure as hell is a better way. yes it would be very different and it would not revolve around money/all you can eat, but it would not require your ignorance to enjoy. hunting, fishing, wildlife appreciation and neighborly sharing could regain their rightful place! imagine a few fish and mammals (along with your or somebodys garden) feeding you for a year compared to god knows how many living things mistreated and killed for your dining pleasure (most of which probably ends up in the trash).
