I understand the intent here, but theres a better way: dont buy the products. I dont like the way Walmart treats its employees, so I rarely shop there (sorry, Meg). Were switching from Sams Club to Costco, a company that pays its employees a living wage. And we dont do fast food (the commercial in the picture is for Hardees) for a lot of reasons, but starvation wages paid to employees are among them. And for those of you who dont like big government budgets, remember this: mega-corporations that pay less than living wages are receiving a government subsidy, because their workers need food stamps and Medicaid. Your tax dollars, which almost everyone complains about paying, subsidizes Walmart billionaires. Yes, some of those workers should have done better in school, so they could find a better paying job, but there are also plenty of college graduates without other opportunities who are working at McDonalds or Walmart. The causality isnt straightforward.
