I understand the reasoning behind these minimum wage protests. $7.25 an hour is just too low to live off of. It wasnt too long ago that I was making just barely over $8 an hour and I still struggled to pay bills. Even working for FedEx, which is a surprisingly demanding job, I dont make 15 an hour. But believe me, if by some miracle it manages to pass (which it wont, but humor me here) one of two things will happen. Fast food places will start using self checkout kiosks to replace you up front. And you know that handful of people you work with? Better get to know about twenty other people, because they wont be working you for more than three hours at a time, if you get that lucky. So suck it up, and go to school or find more meaningful employment.
