I understand the words when people say them or e-mail them to me -- and believe me, being in this line of work, I get MANY e-mails that claim this -- but I will never understand the thought processes of the people who say them or type them. When people say George Bush destroyed this country or Barack Obama is destroying this country, I think I would like to start asking the people who say/send those sorts of things if they truly believe that, if they truly believe one person, even the president, has made this country the way it is. I would presume/hope that its just a metaphor, considering there are numerous examples of why that isnt the case, considering we still have the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Supreme Court, and various state and local levels of government -- and various public/private entities that use money to influence them all. But since it isnt the case, that the president can destroy the country, at least not alone, I wonder why people continue to say it? Are there truly people out there who believe one person drives this nation where it is going, for better or worse?
