I use to get hummingbirds all year round because were lived had nectar trumpet flowers &a well water swimming pool,so when the flowers were all gone they got plenty out our feeders ,& when the pool drained for the winter we put out warmer eater so it wouldnt freeze so they could drink & take their dips,but 1 year the wind gusts got up past 100mph knocked our really good feeders,so we got replacements,they leaked & brought ants so we quit trying others fed them & they came to visit once & while it was nice,evenings were great because use to love to watch bats,& dragonflies drink the pool it was awesome i miss b.s summer nites
