I used to volunteer there when I was in high school and I really fell in love with the place and all of the things that they are doing to improve the lives of the children that attend there. Childrens Place creates a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for children ages 2-7 with special needs. Many of the children here struggle with mental and physical disabilities, behavioral and emotional issues (many due to abuse), and learning disabilities. This organization creates specific and individualized care for each child and their needs, in an effort to help them develop mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically to the very best of their ability. Childrens Place also provides many resources and classes for the parents and family members that may be struggling to properly provide and care for their child(ren) or that may be struggling with issues of their own that may be greatly and negatively effecting the healthy growth and development of their child. All in all, the percentage of child abuse and neglect is decreased and the percentage of a successful future for these children and their families increases.
