I used to work in Portsonachan Hotel. Maybe someone adequate will interest about the horrible way the employees are treated there. Everything is illegal there. The owners (Judith and David Parker) float the law in every possible way and deceive the people. First of all they don’t pay the wages. There were cases people weren’t payed even 6 salaries. What is more they don’t pay national insurance and taxes and treat people like slaves. They provide live in accommodation in poor caravan next to the hotel. It is the kind of barrack not for human living. The working conditions are not acceptable as well. People work very hard as there is always lack of employees. They ensure via email what a fantastic job it is and then there is a staggering confrontation with reality. If you were offered a job there turn it down straight away. Otherwise you will experience the most horrible thing in your life. If you are going to stay there as a guest be aware of what is happening at the backstage. The hotel is dreadful itself as well. Dirt, bed bugs, damages, stinking water are the normality in this place. And one more thing: it is common that the managers write their own reviews about Portsonachan Hotel on Trip Advisor which are far from the truth. Moreover they delete most of the reviews which are bad and which describe the real situation. Hope this matter will receive the attention of some institution which could help people who work and used to work there. This hotel needs some control because it is unbelievable it still exists and is running in such illegal way.
